Overview
Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI follows Jason Duval and his new partner in crime, Lucia Caminos, after an easy criminal score goes wrong. The duo becomes entangled in a conspiracy across Leonida, where their pasts intersect with people like Brian Heder’s drug runners in the Keys, music producer Dre’Quan Priest (Only Raw Records) and real estate tycoon Boobie Ike.
Leonida
Leonida is the name of Rockstar Games’ new state setting for GTA VI. It includes Vice City as a hub city along with named destinations: Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. The official site presents them as parts of the wider state.
Jason Duval grew up around criminals before joining Brian Heder’s drug runners in the Keys to make a living. Lucia Caminos is newly out of Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family and wants a better life; she previously lived with her mother in Liberty City.
Characters
Jason Duval: A former Army soldier who worked in drug-running operations in the Keys to make money on his own terms. He has connections in the Keys that help him find work and allies, including a place to live rent-free at one of Brian Heder’s properties in exchange for helping with local shakedowns. Brian runs a boat yard with his wife Lori.
Cal Hampton: Jason’s friend and a fellow associate of Brian Heder. He prefers staying home, where he listens in on Coast Guard communications.
Dre’Quan Priest: A music producer who owns Only Raw Records with his partner Boobie Ike. He recently signed a rap duo called Real Dimez, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, to the record company. Boobie’s other businesses include real estate, a strip club and a recording studio.
Raul Bautista: A seasoned bank robber looking for a crew.
When does GTA 6 release?
Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS4 is not supported. PlayStation’s FAQ also confirms that GTA VI will be a single-player experience, but there have been no announcements about PC availability.
On PS5, PlayStation lists DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, with vibration and trigger resistance responding to the action. Its hardware features also include positional 3D audio and fast loading through the console’s SSD. PlayStation also lists PS5 Pro Enhanced support, without publishing a specific frame rate or resolution in that feature listing.
