Operator Prestige

Operator Prestige is an optional reset for one fully leveled Active Duty Operator. Sacrifice the required equipped gear and Bank Cash to gain a random permanent Prestige Trait for that Operator.

Activation

Equip the required gear and Ingredients, keep enough Cash in the Bank, and select Prestige from the Operators station or Traits menu. Move any equipment you want to keep into Stash first.

Unlocks

Reach max level with 18 earned Trait Points on an available Operator. The points do not have to be spent. MIA Operators must be rescued before Prestiging.

Other Prestige tracks

Access and independent progression

Open the Operators station or Traits side menu. The Operator must be available, not MIA awaiting rescue. Operator Prestige belongs to that specific identity and is separate from standard Player Progression (Level 1–55), DMZ Player Progression (Level 1–70) and the other MW4 Prestige systems.

Requirement 1 — earn 18 Trait Points

Reach maximum Operator level by earning 18 Trait Points. The points do not have to be spent; the developer recommends spending them, but that is advice rather than an additional requirement.

Requirement 2 — equip the required gear

Acquire the required equipment and place it in this Operator’s Loadout and Backpack before selecting Prestige. Owning it in the Stash alone does not satisfy the stated equip step. First Prestige requires two Rare-or-higher weapons with three Attachment slots each, one Rare-or-higher Plate Carrier, one Rare-or-higher Backpack and four Rare-or-higher 3D Printer Ingredients.

Requirement 3 — have enough Bank Cash

The required DMZ Cash payment comes from the in-game Bank. Have enough for the selected Prestige tier; the first costs 200,000 DMZ Cash.

Protect equipment you want to keep

Remove anything you do not want to sacrifice from the Operator’s Backpack and Loadout and place it in Stash before Prestiging. The source warns that items left in those carried inventories are lost; the sacrifice is not limited to the minimum required equipment.

Select Prestige — what happens

Meet all three requirements, equip the gear and select Prestige. The required gear is removed, the Cash payment is deducted, and ordinary Traits, Trait Tree progress and unspent points reset. A random Permanent Prestige Trait is then granted and equipped to this Operator. The stated payment does not imply that the whole Bank or Stash is erased.

Permanent Prestige Trait ownership

The reward is selected randomly from the available Prestige Trait pool. Only this Operator gains it. It remains tied to the identity through dismissal, reassignment to a different Active Duty slot and changes of Operator skin.

The first requirement block explicitly allows Rare or higher. Later tier lists give Epic and Legendary for the carrier, Backpack and Ingredients; they do not separately state weapon rarity.

Prestige 2 and 3 — earn the points again

After each Prestige, develop the Operator again and earn 18 Trait Tree Points before the next Prestige. Meet the increased equipment and Cash requirements. Each of the first three Prestiges grants an additional random Permanent Prestige Trait, up to three on the Operator.

Prestige 4 onward — replace or keep

You can continue Prestiging almost indefinitely, using the third-tier requirements each time. Once the Operator has three permanent Traits, the next offered Trait differs from all three. Either discard one existing permanent Trait and replace it with the offer, or discard the offer and keep the current three. This does not create a fourth equipped permanent Trait.

Additional rewards across Operators

Prestiging multiple Operators also earns Calling Cards and additional classified rewards. Their identities and full conditions are not revealed here; they are separate from the permanent Trait tied to one Operator.

Separate Prestige tracks

Operator Prestige develops an individual Active Duty Operator. Player Prestige follows the main 1–55 Player track, while Weapon Prestige belongs to a specific weapon. Their requirements and resets are separate.

Prestige requirement in the menu

The selected Prestige Trait tooltip says to Prestige the active Operator after reaching Onyx III. Permanent Prestige Traits are separate from the ordinary three-tree build. The recording does not show a completed Prestige or reset.
