Call of Duty MW4 DMZ
Missing in Action: pay retrieval or dismiss and recruit in MW4 DMZ

Systems & progression

MIA recovery

Recover a Missing in Action Operator to retain their developed Traits, or dismiss them and recruit a replacement.

What happens after elimination?

An eliminated Operator becomes MIA and cannot deploy in that state. Returning that Operator and replacing lost equipment are separate preparation steps.

Recovery cost and retained progression

Pay DMZ Cash from the Bank at the Operator station to recover the Operator with their Traits. More developed Traits increase the recovery cost; the guide supplies no universal formula. Re-equip the recovered Operator before the next deployment.

Dismiss or recover

Instead of paying for recovery, dismiss the MIA Operator and recruit a fresh Operator. Earlier recovery UI explicitly identifies purchased Traits, unspent Trait Points and Dog Tag rank as retained by rescue.

Official launch updates

2026-10-24 — The publisher reports fixing party leaders pulling teammates out without consent and marking their Active Duty Operators MIA. Existing MIA recovery rules remain separate; the patch does not promise retroactive refunds or restoration for every affected account.
