Armor plates, carriers, boxes and caches
Armor Plates, Plate Carriers and Armor Boxes have different jobs: protection, capacity and resupply.
What each item does
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Armor Plate | Applied protection; carried spare plates are separate from currently equipped armor |
| Plate Carrier / Armor Vest | Determines the equipped carrier and its supported plate capacity |
| Armor Box | A carried Field Upgrade for plate resupply |
| World Ammo/Armor Cache | A location service that supplies ammunition and plates, with a cooldown |
Deployment preparation
The Armor slot is empty before deployment and fills with plates on infil. The Part 2 guide identifies Traits expanding Armor-slot capacity and the Armor Box Field Upgrade as ways to bring more plates.
Carrier differences
Some Plate Carriers offer extra capacity, greater durability and one-shot protection, or enhanced plates for tempered protection. These are model-specific properties, not claims about every vest.
Read the HUD correctly
A displayed count of six spare plates is not a six-plate vest.
DMZ-specific damage
A retained developer answer says DMZ has its own weapon-damage tuning, close to Warzone but adjusted for DMZ equipment such as Plate Carriers. Shared weapon art does not establish identical damage across modes.
HUD distinction
Current armor protection and carried spare plates are separate HUD information. Image 013 displays six spare plates; it does not establish a six-plate vest.
Developer clarification: mode-specific weapon damage
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Tuning | DMZ has its own weapon damage tuning, close to Warzone but adjusted for DMZ items such as Plate Carriers. |
| Application | Shared weapon appearance can help find clean images; other-mode damage and armor interaction cannot be copied as DMZ statistics. |
