Official HUD separates health, armor, downed/wounded/death indicators and medication-related temporary health. June describes Tourniquet recovery from downed to wounded when no self-revive is available, requiring further medical items. Selected Medkit wording repairs a wound and restores maximum health; Bandage/Pain Killers relief is distinct from permanent wound repair.
