Overview
Resident Evil Requiem offers two distinct survival-horror experiences within one game: Grace’s tense evasion of danger in first-person or third-person perspective, versus Leon’s action-focused combat with firearms and melee weapons.
Grace Ashcroft
Grace Ashcroft is an FBI analyst investigating the mysterious deaths at Wrenwood Hotel. Her journey requires careful resource management as she scavenges infected enemy blood to craft items like ammunition and injectors. Limited inventory space forces players to make strategic decisions about what to carry, while storage boxes hold spare supplies and special packs expand capacity. Her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, was a journalist who survived the Raccoon City Incident before being murdered at Wrenwood. That connection makes the hotel more than another investigation for Grace.
Leon S. Kennedy
Leon S. Kennedy is a seasoned DSO agent tasked with investigating deaths in the Midwest linked to Raccoon City’s outbreak history. His combat style emphasizes firearms but also includes melee attacks using his hatchet or enemy weapons. Leon carries an attaché case that organizes ammunition and recovery items, while his weapons can be upgraded with customizable parts.
PlayStation’s January preview reported that Leon could parry with his hatchet, but needed to sharpen it when it became blunt. It could also open sealed cabinets and doors inaccessible to Grace. The preview described scrap and gunpowder as crafting materials for items and ammunition, including a Stacked Hand Grenade.
Can you change the camera view?
Both protagonists offer single-player gameplay across first-person and third-person perspectives, allowing players to switch between views at any time. The core survival-horror elements remain consistent regardless of perspective: combat against enemies like zombies or infected humans, puzzle-solving to open sealed areas, and managing limited supplies such as health items and ammunition.
Platforms and editions
Resident Evil Requiem is currently available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. It launched on February 27, 2026.
PlayStation’s official listing confirms single-player offline play with no multiplayer support. The game is also available as a Deluxe Edition on Xbox, offering additional content like Leon’s “RE4” outfit or Grace’s “Dimitrescu” look.
